Long live the kings...

Hey guys... So it's been all change since the last blog! Speed Kings now has an all-new line-up and we've been hidden away in the rehearsal room getting ready for our debut gig at Camden Underworld with Th' Legendary Shack Shakers on April 23rd. Tickets are still available from us at the Speed Kings Webstore so get them while they're hot and save yourself the booking fees etc!

Now, let me intorduce you to the new guys...

Rich - Bass

Rich has been an old friend of Speed Kings since our very first gig at 'DNR Live' in Sheffield way back when it was the original line-up of myself, Greg and Gaz. Rich has played for years in old school style rockabilly and rock 'n' roll bands and fancied slapping his way through something faster, more frantic and a lot louder so I was thrilled to get him on board to play bass.

Atticus 'Abe' - Drums

Abe is brand new to rockabilly and psychobilly but has played in bands spanning styles from classic rock to salsa and all points in-between. Having never been traditionalists or purists at all in Speed Kings I'm looking forward to seeing how Abe's varied influences are going to help broaden the Speed Kings sound even further than the punk, rock, country and rockabilly that have been our musical staples for so many years.

So now you've been introduced to the new guys come down to a show in the near future! We're back on the road from the end of april and have already confirmed dates supporting some big names as well as our own headlining shows in Birmingham and Nottingham. We are confirming more shows at the moment and will announce them on Reverbnation and Facebook soon.

We also have a new EP release to announce! Now the new line-up is confirmed we have made plans with a local independant record label to release a split 7" vinyl (it will also include a download code) with surf punk band 'The Atoms'. A release date in September has been set and there will be more news on this as we get closer to the release.

So it's still as manic as ever at Speed Kings HQ and we're showing no signs of stopping... Don't forget to pick up tickets for the debut show of the new line up at the Speed Kings Webstore and we'll see you all soon!

See you in the pit!
Johnny - Speed Kings
